  1. The golf course will remain a golf course. The (not four-storey) housing development is for over-55s who will add to the club’s patronage. The housing will be on current golf course land that is now bitumen car park, clubhouse concrete and bricks, turf and course maintenance sheds and water storage. It will have restaurant, gym, swimming pool and club facilities available to Garran residents who will be welcomed. It will have no negative impact on next-door neighbours let alone residents away from the course boundaries. What is your problem? Resentment that the club’s “privileged” members will get some benefit they don’t deserve? Hostility to over-55s having quality surroundings in their later years? Riffraff wandering around your streets? NIMBY nutters have a problem with change but less-selfish people will accept that Garran will be enhanced by an over-55s housing development that brings vitality to the area.

  2. Dear Mr Adcock
I am appalled that one of your Group has blatantly breached my privacy by obtaining my personal information and details about my membership of the Federal Golf Club from a secure “members only” section of Federal’s website so you can then send me your Group’s newsletter to my home address. If I find out who the relevant FGC member is and I have my suspicions I will be seeking them out for a serious chat – and they probably cheat at golf as well !!.

  3. I am very concerned that my private address has been made aware to your group without my permission. Many of your facts are wrong, except the one that says that the Club could fold – what would happen then? The whole area of the golf course would likely become another suburb. How would you like that, eh?
